Storyline

Living in exile, Hannibal Lecter tries to reconnect with now disgraced FBI agent Clarice Starling and finds himself a target for revenge from a powerful victim.

My thoughts:

Revenge better served cold then it turns sour as the tables turn and quickly bite you in the arse or in this case face!

I didn't really watch this movie series in order of release date or storyline or whatever I just watched them the moment I found them and so happens that I'm available at the time. I've been meaning to watch this film anyway since I started watching Hannibal (tv series 2013-2015). For some reason way back in the day I shy away or really don't want to watch it due to cannibalism involved even the movie cannibal.

anywho the story telling was quite boring to begin with, a bit action pack in some parts though there are other parts that simply failed to capture my attention. I like the last 20 minutes of the film as it truly put the pieces together I appreciated that especially that last meal OMG! truly disturbing!.

As far as the victim who plotted it all and tries to buy almost everyone who said yes to his plans are simply mad! good thing for hannibal being hannibal.

Julia Moore is simply ageless I can't believe she still look like this now wow! well as Clarice Starling I think she did a fine job quick kickass you go girl! Although I hope she'd go after hannibal herself overseas. The other characters are pretty much predictable and got what they deserve. Overall I gave this movie  3 out of 5 stars not quite as disturbing as I thought it would/should be. Dunno why I still like the tv series modern day take of this better.

The Hunt (2012) | Movie Review

Source: Imbd
Director: Thomas Vinterberg
Writers: Tobias Lindholm, Thomas Vinterberg
Stars: Mads Mikkelsen, Thomas Bo Larsen, Annika Wedderkopp | See full cast and crew »
Runtime: 115 min
Genre: Drama
Release date: 10 January 2013 (Denmark)
Storyline:
A teacher lives a lonely life, all the while struggling over his son's custody. His life slowly gets better as he finds love and receives good news from his son, but his new luck is about to be brutally shattered by an innocent little lie.

My thoughts:
It is often and almost always a common belief in some countries/places/people that children always tells the truth due to their pureness or that they are naive.

I don't think I believe in such a thing. For children of course are human as well although we think they won't gain anything from it or whatever it's most likely of fear especially if they do know of such fear that they/he/she would be punish for such wrong doings.

This story makes me mad a lot I guess this is to brought upon awareness to society as it does happens sometimes. I cried, sniffled a lot and that ending and the people ugh

Mads Mikkelsen, portrayed the character well I super empathized with him!

SPOILER ALERT!

I didn't really get a sense of justice in it.I thought Lucas would get his revenge or like leave town screw them as they screwed him but he's so nice! herd mentality blows man! some bffs pfft!you know at first I thought it was Marcus Godfather I mean looks like he got a basement ain't it? and isn't that the basement where they drink?

Although I applaud this film for bringing out some of the emotions I got in stored haha! the storyline's basic, normal,so-so that makes it quite realistic and simple. Some of the characters I find irritating and I despise while there are still a few that somewhat restored my faith in humanity in this film. Overall I gave it  2.5 out of 5 stars for the movie itself but 5 out of 5 stars for Mads Mikkelsen, acting truly well done man!

Red Dragon (2002) | Movie Review

Source: Imbd
Director:Brett Ratner
Writers: Thomas Harris (novel), Ted Tally (screenplay)
Stars: Anthony Hopkins, Edward Norton, Ralph Fiennes |See full cast and crew »
Runtime: 124 minutes
Genres: Crime, Thriller
Release date: 4 October 2002 (USA)
Storyline:

A retired FBI agent with psychological gifts is assigned to help track down "The Tooth Fairy", a mysterious serial killer; aiding him is imprisoned criminal genius Hannibal "The Cannibal" Lecter.

My thoughts:

Comparing  Edward Norton to Hugh Dancy definitely hands down to Hugh I don't really like Edward's acting as Will. I think Hugh a great match for Will he's much more disturbed looking when he tries to imagine the crime scenes.

I still like the modern take of Hannibal (tv series 2013-2015) when the show try to capture/reimagine the crime scenes as for this film though Edward(will) only says in the tape recorder what he thought happened. Ralph Fiennes as the tooth fairy did a convincing job being mad and his voice having a cleft palate repair what I find quite disturbing yet funny was his scene with Freddie Lounds which is a male journalist played by Philip Seymour Hoffman that scene where the tooth fairy showoff his tattooed back and Freddie screamed in horror I found that display really hilarious and highly entertaining!

Hannibal was pretty much chill most of the time in this movie which I find a bit weird well just being him I guess just teasing and trying to manipulate some people and train of thought that last scene though gives me the creeps.

Overall I rate this film  2.5 out of 5 stars not much character development and I guess I expected something more although the last showdown between Will and the tooth fairy was quite well done I just really hope they'd be able to capture the culprit sooner.

Thank you so much Cassandra! who would have thought after all these years we're still blogging? haha! many thanks! this is really nice and yet another humbling experience!

What is your blog’s direction?

Right now I think it's in a much more General sense unlike before in which I mainly focused/discussed about books. I like how free and open I am now discussing and sharing my feelings with others I'd like to broaden my horizons even more and talk about things that aren't usually talked about.

What country are you from?

Originally I'm from the Philippines! Right now I'm currently residing here in the U.S

Favorite genre in anime and why?

Shoujo,School Life and Slice of Life. I like how normal and relateable it is but with a twist. It teaches valuable lessons about family, friendship, life in general and all that stuff.

What do you hate?

Hate is such a strong word haha but when it comes to food I don't really like and hate diningding I think it's an Ilocano dish in the Philippines it's made out of leftover fish heads then you stew it with anchovy paste and add some vegetables it taste so gross to me but some of my friends told me it isn't so bad haha maybe I just ate a weird not so good version I dunno but right now never again! :))

When it comes to people it's not like I hate the person itself but more of their actions you know? and sometimes I even hate myself  a little bit whenever I did something stupid or like let some trivial matter get on the way and cloud my judgement but through that I learn oh  life!

What are the things that make you glad to be alive?

Hmm...Early on in life I guess I learned how to appreciate little things in life like candy, cute things, games, books stuff like that.

How far do you and anime-manga go?

When it comes to anime I'd say 20 years and 10 years for manga. Way back in the day (Oh boy I feel old using this term haha) animation isn't as good as they are now they're still developing but most of the time they have really good story lines and I actually believed that they're real at least some of them even though they had bad graphics haha I started reading manga around College because during those times it takes a very long time for my favorite anime episodes to air due to translation and copyrights of networks or they needed to get dub by the local network etc. finding the book is somewhat easier and more fast paced than waiting in vain forever haha!

Have you read any light novels?

Lately no but way back in the day yes! here's my goodreads read pile please check it out for more info!

What are your thoughts on the rise of the light novel trend?

I think it's nice! anything that promotes reading I think is good. The more people read the more we learn, our minds won't become stagnant as it will broaden our horizons, empathize and understand one another more.

What are your plans for the next months ahead on your blog?

More reviews about technology, movies, games, make up normal stuff haha

Latest anime or leisure activity you are immersed in?

I haven't watched any anime as of late please recommend me some in case you've watched any good ones as for other things well right now I'm currently playing Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth it's surprisingly good! I'm almost done woohoo! and binge watching Orange is the new Black on Netflix I finally got into this tv series.

11 random facts about me

1. I like Soy products a lot (tofu,soy beans,soy sauce,soy milk anything goes!)
2. I can eat Tofu, Spaghetti or Kare-Kare for a week (breakfast,lunch & dinner)

7. I like drinking cold beverages even on a cold day and vice versa
8. I sometimes like to eat breakfast for dinner and vice versa haha
9. I may be the weird one in my family but I know I'm not alone out there (I have some weird friends as well :))
10. I love pasta and bread!
11. A couple of years ago I eventually learned to appreciate tea, strawberries, cherries and sushi! (who would have thought?!)

I nominate:

Saybermemein 11x or like times infinity Lupet! haha ^0^

Side note: Most of the people I follow/I'd like to nominate either got >200 followers or like already nominated for this award sorry for not following instructions *bow*

Nyx HD Concealer | Makeup Review

This is my first repurchased concealer product I first bought it at Ulta for $4.99 and the second time at Amazon and let me tell you about this amazing product!

It's a wand type concealer and got 3 grams of product in it.

So many shades to choose from and if you buy at Ulta they usually have the buy 1 get 50% off sale
I bought shade 06 glow

It has a chemically normal makeup smell to it but it fades over time not very overpowering/ not irritating to your skin/nose/eyes.

Before picture you can see some dark circles under my eyes and after the concealer application it lightens and achieved an even skintone color and good thing I managed to capture this photo with the natural light outside woohoO!

What I don't like about it is that it only has 3 grams of product and doesn't come in a bigger size. I can quickly ran out of it haha!

What I like/love about this product is that it's cruelty free, affordable, creamy liquid light formula and coverage and very buildable, blends easily although it took me three layers to achieve that after picture it works for me and definitely covers my blemishes etc. Overall 5 out of 5 stars! I highly recommend this product!

Maybelline Dream Smooth Mousse | Makeup Review

This is the first time I bought Maybelline's foundation I researched beforehand. I heard and read nothing but good things about this one. This one might be just the one for me...I bought the shade 200  creamy natural at Ulta for $8.99.

back part
The top part comes with a free sponge and that's where you just basically store it unfortunately there's no mirror but I don't really mind.

the bottom part is the foundation.

the foundation doesn't really smell like anything

finger swatch

Packaging: Plastic and simple. The bottom part which is transparent looking I thought was glass at first. It's quite elegant looking very presentable and sturdy. I'm a bit surprised when I got it I thought the top part would be flat but actually has a dome shape slight curvature design.

Claims & My Thoughts:

-Skin looks and feels hydrated for 14 hours- never rough or dry
I have dry to normal skin right now I don't feel hydrated when I use this product I still need to use a face mist/ moisturizer beforehand  so this product won't accentuate some dry areas on my face (dry patch alert!) After 5 hours and 30 minutes even with moisturizer and primer I notice the product gradually fading and my face looks dry up close. The never rough or dry I guess depends if you have a really good skin condition and maintain a good skincare.

-Lightweight formula transforms from cream to liquid
It does feel light as if you have nothing on (coverage; light buildable to medium) creamy texture. Can't really apply it with my fingers you have to use a sponge that comes along with it or use your own brush. I haven't used that one though as I used a wedge sponge I bought from Ulta so I'd avoid double dipping and I guess just reserving that one in case of emergency haha! mayhaps it will transfrom to liquid if you forgot about it outside and it's hot it will probably melt.

-Flawless, natural coverage provides a smooth finish.
Indeed! it eliminated some redness and blemishes on my face although it's quite noticeable up close. Definitely evens out my skintone. As for smooth finish again it depends if you have good skin like if you exfoliated beforehand and such. So far so good.

Note: once opened used within 12 months

Overall 5 out of 5 stars! I like this product so far, easy to use, compact, doesn't cause me breakouts, evens out my skintone, somewhat hides my blemishes, my go to product at the moment, quite long lasting ( 5 hours and 30 mins. isn't so bad to retouch even with moisturizer and primer on) , there's no need for me to put on powder as it feels and looks matte after application, quite a lot of product and pretty affordable too!

I think it would also be great for oily types as well (I'm not sure about the super duper oily)  this product is oil free, won't create a dry patch on oily types(I hope),won't clog pores and mayhaps create like a dewy flawless finish  although they have a matte mouse counterpart for this product. I think it's worth giving a shot!
