Brightest by Johann de Venecia and Joanne Crisner

Source: PublisherIsshin Dream Publishing
Category: Children's book
Format: PDF
Page count: 48
Tentative Release date: December 2011
Language: English
About the book:
A story about a lost firefly catcher, trying to find his way home, and a broken firefly that had long lost himself. And how friendship and being there for each other made a difference in their lives.(more)

Note: I'd like to thank the following Isshin Dream Publishing, for letting me read and review their work, thank you so much Jho for this very lovely opportunity it's truly an honor I'm really glad to know you and many thanks indeed for introducing me to lots of magnificent people ^_^

My Review: 4.5 stars
Simple, cute and heartwarming quick read.Readers of all ages would enjoy reading this story picture book. The title definitely suits the story, the frame which surrounds the title is elegantly drawn, the font and size of the letters are easy in the eyes I like the illustrations the mushroom field setting in which I thought about Alice in Wonderland  is quite magical  I immediately dive in to that world and BY JOVE! that's the biggest firefly I ever saw O_O I mean like humongous! :O

The outline of the story is very relateable which is being lost that I believe most of us experience in life and sometimes finding a way out is no easy task. The moral lesson is pretty much laid out in a very straightforward in your face matter of fact manner whether you're down,lost/troubled try to smile,be optimistic and look at the bright side of things.A smile from you might find its way to others and ignite something within I enjoyed reading this book up to the last page though there's something quite lacking, a bit short and I'd like to explore more of the fantasy world and let the characters build and develop even more but all is well quite an ending.I kinda miss reading this sort of books these things and kids always reminds me the simple joys in life that I often forgot along the way sad but true.Anyway, don't forget to Follow Brightest at Facebook, along with Isshin Dream Publishing learn more about them through their WebsiteTwitterYoutubeFacebook and Goodreads Account ^_^ you can also purchase a copy from Kcat Yarza.

My thoughts about the book trailer:
The song reminds me of this television show my brother and I used watch growing up "Hiraya manawari' (though the opening theme is different from this one but this got some sort of effect in me) it's very fascinating, there are different story being showcased every episode and it's full of moral lessons.I think it's really nice to let kids watch those kind of shows in which I think is running short these days that will teach kids good manners and right conduct. This also brought back some of my gamer days the song is really quite nostalgic I love it! I think it's the perfect choice as a background music, the transition of the slides, the way the book is presented is very nice and pleasing a great way to spread the hype.

I'd like to thank everybody behind this fantastic book good job guys! keep it up I can't wait to read more of your brilliant masterpiece.

Black Friday

OMG! I'm so tired we went to a store outlet and there's massive crowd :O
we just go there for fun we don't really have any plan or anything it's just really nice to experience such fantastic event plus there's really not much sale items going on just different sorts of gimmicks to attract costumers I mean perhaps to some people that's already cheap but I've been to that place and I've seen a much better price. The place is really jampack it's tough to find a parking space, there's lots of people walking into the streets that are parked elsewhere, longer lines than ever all in all I regret nothing I'm happy, were happy, everybody's happy it's an awesome day!there are really some awesome early bird specials, great deals, good finds but the lines are just so....ugh perhaps next time lol :))

Relations that Suck: The Story of Eva and Dries by Marilyn Yu

Category: Fiction,Paranormal
Format: Hardcover
Page Count: 52
Published: August 2009 by Art & Lenny
ISBN:0615254713 (ISBN13: 9780615254715)
Language: English
About the book:
Relations that Suck: The Story of Eva and Dries is a fable about friendship and destiny. Eva is a creative vampire who likes people and Dries is a traveling spider; their story portrays denial and guilt.(more)

My Review:  3 Stars
I like the book cover it has this very dark set into it as if she's planning something evil that just kinda pulls and attracts you over...very beautiful and I love the overall presentation of this picture story book, the photographs are very well executed, modern, innovative, high end fashion I enjoyed reading and browsing each piece.A very short fun read and it's really nice to see all these overflowing creativity and incorporation of art, fashion and literature at the same time but story wise not so much I understand the concept and all that but there are some details that are quite vague and lacking when it comes to character building and development as far as the story goes though I think Dries is really sweet and thoughtful.Eva's beautiful, tried her best to be human enough, blend in the crowd inspite being a vampire.A very peculiar bond is formed between the two.I don't like the ending though the gesture was quite peaceful and sweet.Readers of all ages will enjoy and learn some things from their tale.

Book Trailers

I discovered a whole new different world and learned a lot of awesome things since I started blogging in which I thought I would never do in this case took my Godmother (MissGennD) a lot of persuasion for us to start one and the ideas just took off I just basically went out there ,searched and made some codes, looked for layouts/wallpapers,visited a couple of blog started following others that leads one after another(end of reminisce flashback stories :))) and so yes okay BOOK TRAILERS  I forgot what's the first book trailer I watched I'm not really sure but since my blog is mostly about books I mean like yeah seriously? yup ^_^  and I'm really like ugh yeah makes sense since there's movie trailers why not  books right?some are fun, some boring, some that lived up to its hype but what I really like about them besides  marketing, showcasing, advertising the books is the narrator's/spokesperson's golden voice it's just so amazing! that's one selling point right there the wow factor :O and I'd like my voice to sound that great :)) anyway take a load of this ^_~

Don't you just love it? and hey don't forget to grab a copy of these wonderful books  ^_^v
Do you still remember the first book trailer you watched? What's your favorite book trailer?anything you'd like to share comment away ^_~

Ecotools Brush Set,Make up stash!

I've always wanted to make this entry and now here it is (shoutout to my cousins and God mother thanks for the updates and encouragements) *waves* ^_^  so yeah this is my first brush set it's not much but I love it the bristles are so soft, it's really handy and just basic stuff that I need and I think every girl needs I'm not much of a girly girl I let others dress/doll me up sometimes for laughs and gist of it all I like it it's really fun :)) to be honest I only had two brushes before one for blush and the other for the eyeshadow and I'd rather use my hands to mix/blend everything though they say it consumes more product but anyway it's all good I bought my first set of makeup & brushes for an acquaintance party at school coz I don't want to go there as pale as a corpse nyaha! ;) and a couple more stuff for my graduation way back in which I spent quite some research, considered some friend recommendations, girlie hangouts, peptalk with my bffs, canvassing, scavenger make up hunts etc. so yey! off I went & bought some things at the Elianto store at Mall of Asia (a.k.a MOA) at the Philippines besides make up,they also got some lovely nail polish and other beauty products there I've also discovered the wonders and magic of BB Cream! *mana from heaven* I don't have the picture of the store since this was a long time ago but it somewhat looks like this (I'm not really sure if it's this branch but anyway)

Oh here's BB! ^_~

Though I kinda hesitated at first and totally not sure what and which is which the sales lady convinced me surely enough she's really good explained all this sorts of stuff, pros and cons, etc the use of BB creams before is not that commercialize and not even popularly used at my hometown but the sales went sky high especially at Korea these products I think are really good at asian skin.I read quite a lot of reviews, all sorts of articles everything it's just so freakin amazing I don't breakout using these products which is good plus it has this lavender scent on it it's really nice and the application is very light and natural.Im really fascinated inside the store the lighting and highlighting of certain products are really great! I also like this baked and embossed eyeshadows

What can I say I'm a fan :)) that's where I mostly discover some make up goody stuff because the other store are way too costly/expensive and now they got a lot of awesome things going on to bad there's no US franchise yet...or is it? and I think most BB creams are sold mainly over Asia ugh what a bummer but I saw some online goodies plus some real stores ugh but they are way over california oh men! here's my stash at the moment

It took me quite a while to research and know what kind/type of products I need and would be using I mainly go for the sensitive skin indication option.I bought those because me, my cousins and Godma talked about it in our group under the mango tree it was like you know nonchalant talking about random stuff, make up,girly things, tutorials and such way back spring or summer I think and I just posted it just now ;)) so anyway here are some of my favorite youtubers (or whatever they call it these days) which my Godma told us about and I'm now sharing to all of you enjoy and don't forget to subscribe to them! ^_~

Colorismyweapon (Noe Mae)

Do you have any favorite make up?or make up brand? what is it and why?

Waiting on Wednesday (W.O.W)

This is my first post in my waiting on wednesday entry and I've always like Wednesday the character above from the Adams family and the day itself because it's somewhat the middle of the week which means it's almost over yey! lol :)) and so here it is the book I've been waiting for is no other than ta-dah:

Paperback

Expected publication: November 17th 2011

Mae Day Publishing

When Psyche receives a prophecy gone horribly wrong, she learns that even the most beautiful girl in Greece can have a hideous future. Her fate? Fall in love with the one creature even the gods fear.

As she feels herself slipping closer into the arms of the prophecy, Psyche must choose between the terrifyingly tender touch she feels almost powerless to resist and the one constant she's come to expect out of life: you cannot escape what is destined.

Destined is a fresh and heartachingly romantic retelling of the Cupid & Psyche myth from debut novelist, Jessie Harrell.

There's quite a lot of books with the same title but I love this cover and the synopsis looks really interesting and intriguing I hopefully I could get a copy ^_^ plus there's a blog tour and some giveaways going on click here to learn more.

Monday

They said and statistically speaking a lot of people seems to die during monday according to some reports most likely it's due to stress..I dunno maybe it's just that there's lots going on every monday, since it's the start of the week,files/assignments needed to be done/pass/submit/due that was left behind before the weekend, high risk for some freak accident since everybody seems like on the rush and edge of their sits so yeah what is it really about monday?

besides those stuff I stated I think for me(before) Monday is such a hassle because you have to  wake up really early so you won't get stuck in traffic or during the rush hour, waking up early is quite hard actually especially if you've done a bit of loosening up during the weekends, there's just so much stuff like deadlines, starting up anew just like every single day but it's ok it's a good headstart of the week than Tuesday coz if you start off your week in a tuesday like for example a certain holiday is up for monday then the next day you went to school/work your dates/files would kinda be screwed up because you'll be writing dates thinking it's monday ha! yeah it happens (another random blab) pwahaha! :))

so how's your day? ^_^

Fairytales

I love fairytales it's a big part of my childhood especially Disney I'm sure you could understand why anyway, there's a big fuss over the internet that's been going on for a very long time, coming back and forth from now and then about all these princess flicks rebellious moral lessons etc and to be honest for me I never thought of them as bad examples as a kid growing up unlike some adults that claim it to be rebellious and such I simply adore them because of the plot, magical world, all these fantasies I just get lost and absorb all of it but beyond those thoughts I think I know as a kid growing up who are my role models are ^_^

Random fact time: I used to watched Aladdin and Beauty and the beast over and over to the point I memorized all the lines (yeah I tend to do that) I kinda remember getting mad at my brother spoiling and spilling all these details before I get to watch it (oh you know kids ;))) *shrug* so anyway, I thought Disney was the original one but nah...not really there's a whole lot more than that so please let me enlighten you not unless you already know it but please enjoy this vlog(video blog) by one of my favorite authors Jackson Pearce

check out her websites, watch / subscribe to her amazing and funny videos, follow her on twitter   and tumblr, like her facebook fan page plus of course don't forget to purchase her books As you wish,Sisters Red and Sweetly ^_~

Television shows

I rarely watch television but when I do just like my movie obsessions it's going to be a marathon :))) I browse a lot of channels in which some of my family members would say "Oh common you're making me dizzy!" or like "just stick to one channel!" yup that's my routine but since over here once it hits commercial all channels are in commercial it's like one of those WTF MOMENTS! and if you have a satellite connection type of cable and it's raining heavily your television is not really picking up any signal and you get this expression seriously?  such frustration lol :)) so I tried to keep track of almost everything since there's a lot of channels I'm not familiar with all of them :)) at first I'm kinda confuse about the timezone since my bodyclock is all whacked then they'll start saying watch this 8/7c and I'm like huh? O_O but now I know what it means ugh silly me ;) anyway I really dunno what's the fuss are all about with these shows these days so I tried to check them out one by one watch and see them for myself and experience such hype some of my friends been talking about.Oh and I also saw this video of MaxieMagyx and so sometimes I'm like I dunno what to do..oh vampires lol :)) watch this so you could relate ^_^

The contest she talked about is over but try to watch her other videos or even subscribe to her I think she's really funny and jolly I like her voice very soft, cute and sweet some of her vlogs are what most of us used to do everyday in life random stuff post so yeah I dunno what to do so I dunno vampires anyone? lol :)) and that's why :

Currently watching:
I just started watching this yup and I'm way behind ugh season 1 lol :)) I think this show is running for season 3 now wow! it's really nice I like the characters most of them are very smart and sexy though there are irritating ones like Vicky who never seems to die, survived multiple attacks who what Jeremy said made choices that she knows are wrong but still made them anyway..it's just sad! and now she's dead x_X (yup that's one example) I like this show so far all the rich family history, events that goes back to 1864,flashbacks,the twist and plot, vampires abilities,humor...the casts portrayed it well more power to this show I wonder what will happen next ^_^ plus I like how my friends update me with all these so fun and exciting!

I saw this on a friend's site & book pile so I'm like ok might as well check it out might be good and I must say there's a lot of things going on with this show so many complications, dilemmas in the storyline all these characters, emotions, those times and moments they're still learning, trying to figure things out, family secrets, witchcraft etc. they're still very young and their journey is just beginning things are starting to unfold one by one and sometimes I'm like why can't the elders/any adult just tell them what's happening! (but I guess that's part of the hype,or that's what the script and director told them to do or there's this kind of inflicted fear and stigma going on ugh -_- ) though it certainly feels like the craft (movie) to me in which I think on episode 3 Faye once said it lol :)) but this one is broken into series though the setting & characters are much younger but still highschool type plus the opening got this kinda creepy tune to it.

This reminds me of catch me if you can so yeah just because of that I watch this show though I haven't move through one after the other episode yet.

OMG! I'm totally rooting for this one I love this show! the modern fairtytale twist and all that plus the characters are so amazing I'm so into this! ^_^

Stuck up
Totally stuck in season 2 dunno why I guess I'm feeling a bit off with the characters and Jenny's turning into somewhat a rebel..yes I'm struggling to finish all these. The fashion, drama, loveteam & hype like OMG! really?

haven't budge to season 5 why oh why?!but I still love you House

I haven't seen this show for years..I guess I only started watching this at studio 23 before when I'm a bit younger with my older brother but then there's this sort of complications with Prue in real life she got arrested  for driving under the influence or something like that then she got to quit the show coz of that or so I think then there's this new girl..just a lot of stuff since so I tried to get updates with my friends about it..I'm good with that lol :))

So there you have it folks!I've always wanted to make a post about these shows one entry at a time but then I just thought about making it into a long single post so yeah that's that!and Oh there's lots more I haven't started yet but oh well maybe one of these days ;) now, do you have any show recommendations?anything good lately?please type it below the comment box thanks I'll try to watch them ASAP ^_~

Outline

I've been working on this
longer than expected
why do I keep coming back
for something can't say it

I kept on wasting my time
for things that didn't matter
is it just my way to past time?
or is it the latter?

There's a choice I gotta make
a tough one I must say
it could either make or break
perhaps go astray?

The journey's long
and quite tough
but I just can't wave the white flag
and say I give up!

Disease took its toll
inside my body
might be because I've been
rather busy

by the end of the day
it's always been just me
a fight to oneself
how grueling and staggering.

Rocksmith guitar video game

OMG! I want this so bad to be honest I suck  not really good at playing any musical instrument ok I tried/used to play the piano when I was a kid (some lessons,in which I could get really sweet/grumpy at times :))),jam sessions with some band during our town's fiesta(feast),drums and some test during high school (no choice it's on the curriculum lol :)) my cousins taught me some stuff about the clarinet & other instruments they played in their band (their musically gifted) but wind instruments and a bunch of stuff I guess wasn't really my thing oh and the flute! yes I bought one before coz I thought we're gonna used it at school but not! & my friend since elementary got one so I also thought we could play together we'll teach each other and all that yes...indeed I thought about a lot of stuff..so through the course of time I quite and kinda forgot to play these instruments even though I mastered a piece I doubt I could play it again as of today so yup some story huh?

anyway, I saw this tv ad. long ago but today I just decided to type it all in here and I'm an avid gamer myself this game looks really cool I really hope they could seal some deal with a game bundle of guitar on it so that would be more awesome! I really like to learn how to play the guitar I only know one cord "A" I composed lots of songs with just one cord really funny actually "A" started when I was in highschool a teammate of mine taught me that during break I think from practice then it came back to me during college one thesis night at my friend's house my mind is so not working drifting from somewhere so I took a little break I'm an all nighter no sleep just food and computer trying to figure what and how to finish our thesis but of course we're a team I can't sleep either way so I grabbed the guitar my other chum we jammed and played strum some cords I forgot what we're singing but I think it's some sort of disease and made up lines it was really fun kinda wake me up a bit, went swimming, broke the faucet (since it's kinda loose and old anyway),slept for a bit,ate breakfast,a great way to take the load off and my mind off things (end of flashback) hahaha :)))

At the moment the game I think is still by pre-order?or so it cost about $80 but if they could seal it up with a bundle deal they say it would cost up to $200 not bad I think..I'd love that coz looking for a good guitar is quite a hassle but in other case would be good looking for a nice piece might as well enlighten myself with some guitar lessons/challenge and other guitar stuff the console plus all sorts of accessories however still all in all it's a lot of money but hopefully I could get my hand on all of these (insert other blab) XD

The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky

Category: Young adult,Fiction,Coming of Age
Format: ebook,paperback
Page Count: 232
Published: February 2nd 2009 by Pocket Books (first published February 1st 1999)
ISBN: 1847394078 (ISBN13: 9781847394071)
Language: English
About the book:
What is most notable about this funny, touching, memorable first novel from Stephen Chbosky is the resounding accuracy with which the author captures the voice of a boy teetering on the brink of adulthood. Charlie is a freshman. And while's he's not the biggest geek in the school, he is by no means popular. He's a wallflower--shy and introspective, and intelligent beyond his years, if not very savvy in the social arts. We learn about Charlie through the letters he writes to someone of undisclosed name, age and gender; a stylistic technique that adds to the heart-wrenching earnestness saturating this teen's story. Charlie encounters the same struggles many face in high school--how to make friends, the intensity of a crush, family tensions, a first relationship, exploring sexuality, experimenting with drugs--but he must also deal with the devastating fact of his best friend's recent suicide. Charlie's letters take on the intimate feel of a journal as he shares his day-to-day thoughts and feelings (more)

My Review: 5 stars
A very good friend of mine recommended me this book she kept on saying she's a wallflower and all that when I told her she's not she might be quite shy yes that's noted but I know deep inside she's more than what she seems or appear to be and that indeed I believe and hold is true!there's a lot of stir and commotion about this book though it's been published long time ago it's just now that it has risen up once again and I saw it listed on the banned/challenged book wow! just look at all these hype lol :))) I received a copy of this very lovely book through Redstarpixie also a very good friend of mine (as seen on my previous posts)if not for her I dunno if I'd have read this one so thank you thank you very much ^_^ Before reading this my thoughts about a wallflower or what people call/"label" as a wallflower is someone who's always on the sidelines especially during occasions/dances they're the ones who are asked last or in the corner, the shy ones, the loner and so on.After reading this story now I know why and I understood what they're all saying now my horizon and perspective broaden I'm truly enlightened with this one of a kind storytelling.

and so I say that Within us or at least a part of us is a wallflower.

The Innocence of this story,Charlie's life journey, his letters, mixed tapes, recommendations I won't forget I saw a bit of myself in him (minus some of the vices ;))all the cast they're really that realistic to me the "participation" yes I did(check) it's quite funny how I could totally relate with all this there's a lot of things going on in a certain amount of time I'm impressed how he handled all those truly a coming of age a must share story.I understood and knows what it feels like to be infinite Oh good days..fun times! The story touched sensitive, serious topics into which all the more people should be open and discuss about! free your mind and read this awesome book! Thank you so much Mr. Stephen Chbosky ^_^

Looking back at my journals public & private ones it's pretty much like my perks in life I'd like to continue on my writing might be a good reference someday especially when my memory fails me lol :)) plus my entries will outlive me anyway so there you go! lol :))) I'm looking forward to the upcoming movie and hopefully they'll do some justice with this wonderful story ^_~

My Review: 5 stars

I'm instantly hooked into reading the moment I laid my eyes on this I really have no idea what's the fuss is all about why this book is banned/challenged,what is crank etc. until I started reading it! and OMG! why didn't I read/discover this book before?! it's so good I can't stop reading let alone put it down it's that fantastic! I love the cover it's very simple yet it conveys the message on what the book is all about,it's fast paced, cool poem like structure format, the lines, spacing, easy on the eyes, thick but very light book!hands down to Ellen Hopkins now I know the reasons behind all of it,it's very mind opening,it taught me a lot of things because of the plot all these twist and turn about the character's life, choices (some good and bad) from that I learned to do the right thing,to say NO!,stand firm and never give in to something that I know is wrong and a whole lot more. This does not at all affect me whatsoever to do anything illegal and such this took me to a perspective, euphoria, elation, what it felt like to be in a complete high state of mind (to be honest I don't need vices such as drugs, booze, weed, cigars to get high because I'm naturally high, the good kind I know my limits and I learned a lot from my and others life experiences) anyway I can't wait to read book two in order to unravel and continue their stories. It's really up to the reader on how they view life, dilemmas, choices, picking out their books all I'm saying is that free your mind and read an banned book!

My Review: 4.5 stars
This time a very different stand alone novel take for Annie Lee.I like the cover it's simple, the tree and the horse is where and how the setting looks like,I get it,totally related to the book. The book is a short quick read, quite heavy for it's small size but still handy.I love the setting (Ocala,Florida) I can easily imagine it and the plot is very interesting actually I'm greatly fascinated with horses as well just like Hailey (the main character)I empathize with her a lot along with Reese (her bestfriend)and Cara who helped her to escape such a nightmare they're so close, relateable and I like how dependent, spontaneous, girly they could be.I hate Dane (Hailey's abusive good for nothing first husband). I love Noah and Owen's brotherly tandem they're both hot, funny, knows how things work (a man who you would likely to marry and bring home to meet your parents that kinda thing)Noah's horse name Hear me is sorta cliche I think a better name would be more suitable for such a fine, beautiful, powerful horse (can't complain much)in a story where of course nobody's perfect as it progresses I learned how it all started, the brewing love story, time heals everything kinda stuff, their flaws, physical and emotionally damaging side of stories but in the end all is well, communication, love, trust and faith is the key. It's quite funny I thought I'll learn a thing of two about sign languages here but no...none of it.There are some parts that are engaging, the love scenes OMG! (yes, there's a bit of adult content),The character building, dilemmas, twist and turn are really realistic as in! I like how it all turns out and I'm happy how it all end.Oh and the Dogs Beau and Lilly aww so cute I totally adore them they're totally fond of each other there's a place for every character in this novel in which I also like and enjoyed I'm greatly touched with all these casts and would like them to exist in real life to chat and ride horses together that would be lovely.I don't want to spoil anymore stuff (if I ever did) but yeah read for yourself!^_^

Daylight Saving Time!

Yey! I'm so excited and I'm actually looking forward to it every single year \\_//\\_// cheers to that!  winding, rewinding, adjusting, replacing batteries etc I hope that you guys already set back your clock an hour before going to bed (hmmm...sounds like a plan) :))

Thank you so much Benjamin Franklin! read all about his excerpts and commentary on the essay in Journal de Paris, on April 26, 1784 here .Random story time: when I was in high school especially whenever I'm late I always wish for daylight saving nyaha so crazy I know my elders and other folks told me they actually did adjusted clocks before but it's just that it's not working out for my hometown (Philippines)  and now with this article as I read it here since it's near the equator it's all quite balance and all that so there's no point adjusting. But now since I'm here in the land of the free home of the brave pwahaha! I'm so happy about daylight saving time the bummer and downside of it I guess is whenever we have to adjust again anyway all is well enjoy! and happy sunday! ^_~
